Power of Sree Lalitha Sahasranama - 1000 names of Sree Lalithambika!




Sree Lalitha Sahasranama is a text from Brahmananda Purana. It is a secred text to the Hindu worshippers of the Goddess Lalitha Devi. i.e., the Divine Mother, in the form, Shakthi. Lalitha is the Goddess of bliss, an epithet for Shiva's wife Goddess Parvathi.

Sree Lalitha Sahasranama (1000 names of devi) is a secret and very sacred text or mantra in Hindu religion.This mantra has been revealed to mankind through the discussion between lord Hayagriva and the great sage Agasthya. This is the most favored form of prayer to Goddess Lalithambika and it is also very secret and powerful than any other forms of Tantra or Mantra.

Days for chanting Lalitha Sahasranama:

  • On the birthdays of self and his family members
  • On full moon days
  • On all Fridays
  • On Maha Navami Day (9th day of waning moon in the month of August-september. This coincides with durga festival in India. 9th day of durga festival is called maha navami).

Types of Chanting:

Stotram Form:

 Lalitha Sahasranamam can be chanted in many different ways. In Stotram form, all 1,000 namams are separated into stotrams of a few namams each and recited in this way. 

Mantra Form:

In mantra form, each namam is said individually, preceded by "Aum" and followed by "Namah". When chanted in mantra form, the endings of each namam are generally changed to "e" or "yai". Mantra form is commonly used to recite Lalitha Sahasranamam during archana. 

 Homa Form:

In the homam form, homam is conducted by ending each namam with Swaha.

What to observe while chanting:

  • Should be physically clean - Take a bath or wash your hands and feet before chanting.
  • Choose a good place and seat to sit - It should be a comfortable place. The best seat to sit is a  mat placed in front of Goddess in Pooja room
  • Should be mentally clean. Try to have only positive thoughts
  • Chant with correct pronunciation. Use a CD of Lalithasahasranamam for it or approach a sanskrit scholar.
  • Chant with shradha  & respect - Know that Shri Lalitha Parameshvari is listening to your chanting & watching you.
  • Chant slowly, clearly & loud enough so that you can hear.
  • Try not to hurt others physically or mentally throughout the day 
  • You don’t have to chant/do the nyasam if you are not initiated.  If you are initiated then learn the way from your Guru. Start with chanting the dhyana shlokam (just one will do).
  • Try to understand the literal meaning & the implied meaning.
  • Ponder over the meaning & try implementing it in daily life
  • Offer the chanting to the Devi at the end of the chanting.

 

 Benefits of chanting Sree Lalitha Sahasranama:

  • Regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasranama is as beneficial as visiting religious places, taking bath in a holy river, offering food, offering materials. It is an indirect blessing to those who cannot do these kind of offerings to God.
  •  Regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasranama will ward off the evil from uncompleted pooja vidhis or rituals etc. It will also form a way of penance.
  •  Regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasranama will ward off premature death, will provide a long and contended healthy life.
  •  Fever can be cured by religiously chanting Sree Lalitha Sahasranamam by touching on a persons forehead. The number of times you chant the more benefit you are likely to get. The vibhuti used for Sree Lalitha Sahasranama archana can be applied then on the forehead, which will give much relief to fever and headache.
  • It is said that if one chants religiously Sree Lalitha Sahasra Namam keeping a glass of water (or in a vessel) in front and then pours it over the head, all sorts of troubles related to once planetary positions and from evil spirits will be warded off.
  • It is said that if a person chants Sree Lalitha Sahasranama keeping in mind a picture of Sree Lalitha Devi situated in the divine ocean which contains `Amrut' , he will be cured from any kind of disease related to poison.
  •  It is said that if a person consumes ghee, which is kept while chanting Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam, he will be cured of impotency and will have children.
  • Regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam will ward off any kind of evil deeds or rituals (black magic) aimed at the person who chants the namam. The power derived from the chanting supersedes all other forms of prayers and the person will no more require to consult astrologers or any sorts of occultists. He will have tremendous self confidence in himself.
  •  Through the regular chanting of Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam, the atmosphere will be purified. Each nerve in our body will be invigorated and subtle energies will be awakened in the person.
  • Sree Lalitha Devi will protect a person who regularly chants Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam from accidents and from the attacks of enemy and will make him victorious in all his good deeds.

This is the reason why the ancient Gurus would instruct their desciples to chant Sree Lalitha Sahasra namam even after initiating them into the mantras of other deities such as Lord Krishna, Lord Rama and other Gods and Goddesses.
  •  It is also to be noted that by religiously chanting Sree Lalitha Sahasra namavali, we are seeking the blessings of Sree Lalithambika, who is also called Kali ma, Durga ma, Devi, Parasakthi, Bhagavathi etc, who in turns is the universal mother. And how can a mother ignore her children when they are in distress or duress or troubles of any sorts? So keep utmost faith in her and start chanting.

Chanting Shri Hanuman Chalisa




Shri Hanuman is understood as great jnani, yogi and a brahmachari (bachelor). He has been blessed as chiranjeevi, one who lives eternally. The blessings of Siva, Vishnu, Brahma, Surya, Indra, and Vayu made Shri Hanuman invincible. He is the great lover of music and also mastered the Sanskrit language. Being the Yogacharya, Shri Hanuman is considered as an embodiment of the four yogas. His strength, valour, prowess, will power, memory, balanced emotions, sharp intellect, fearlessness, and noble actions were perfectly refined and grounded in spirituality. None in the world can equal Shri Hanuman. He had only one thought--that of serving his Shri Rama with utmost humility and devotion. He serves, protects and inspires the devotees of Shri Rama. He holds the flag with fish symbols.

 Shri Hanuman Chalisa praises the selfless service, courage, humble disposition, and foremost devotion shown by Shri Hanuman towards Shri Rama. Shri Hanuman will present Himself with folded hands in prayer wherever and whenever the Holy name of Shri Rama is recited.

 Shri Hanuman is generous, he blesses all, and he gives happiness of all forms to every human being. All those who are going through Shani (Saturn) Sade Sati and all those who are going through Mangal Dasha or are Mangliks should recite Hanuman Chalisa every day.

 

Benefits of reciting Shri Hanuman Chalisa:

  • Hanuman chalisa wards off all negative energies and bestows abundant strength to the native to withstand anything. It is also said that continuous chanting of certain dohas of Hanuman Chalisa are capable of bestowing specific results.

  •  It is believed that those who chant the Hanuman Chalisa 100 times a day for 100 days enjoy the highest bliss and become free from the cycle of birth and death.

  • If you want to accomplish some major tasks, then you are advised to chant the appropriate Hymn with devotion 1008 times on an auspicious Tuesday, Wednesday,  Thursday, or Saturday or on a combination of a Moola Nakshatra day and a new moon day falling during Tamil month Margazhi (14 Dec - 13 Jan).

Most Powerful Rama Mantras!

Rama was Lord Hari Himself incarnate on earth for the destruction of Ravana. Worship of Lord Rama enhances self-esteem, will power, mental strength and the ability to get rid of vices.The mere chanting of Rama nama yields astounding benefits.   • This mantra bestows a special blessing on men. If a man meditates on this mantra 1008 times on Wednesdays, his wife will not covet other men. Lord Rama, the perfect husband, has granted this blessing for men.

  • One of Hanumaan's names is Sundara. In fact, this is His mother's favorite name for Him. Calling upon Hanumaan as Sundara will bestow immeasurable blessings on the aspirant.
  • Hanuman, the great master of Rama bakthi (love for Rama), will teach us how to be devotees of Rama and personally guide us on the path to Rama.
  • If you meditate on this mantra on Saturdays, there will be no deficiencies in your life.
  • Chanting this mantra can get rid of Shani doshas - afflictions due to Saturn (Shaniswara) - So to please Lord Saturn, chant this mantra regularly with humility, sincrity and devotion towards Saniswara, Hanuman and Lord Rama. 
Sunday Mantra: Sree Rama Jaya Rama Raghu Rama
Sunday is the day of the Sun. Lord Rama was the greatest king of the Solar dynasty. Raghu was an ancestor of Rama and one of the great kings of that dynasty. This is why the Solar dynasty is also known as the dynasty of Raghu. So on Sundays, we call upon Rama as a descendant of Raghu and as the merciful Lord who incarnated in the Solar dynasty.
